Where Is Sound Coming From?

In this activity, we use the two microphones to figure out whether sound is coming from the left, right, or in between the two ear pucks. If you’re having trouble getting it to work, here are some tips:

  • Make sure the ear pucks are positioned correctly. Place them face down, flat on a table, (not in the headphone yokes.)
  • Double-check to make sure the left ear puck goes on the left, and the right ear puck goes on the right.
  • Make sure the two ear pucks are about 6 inches apart. (The Activity Mat will help you get the right placement, but this will also work without the mat.)
